Chris Sutton makes Graham Potter admission in West Ham prediction v Chelsea
Chris Sutton admits he does not think Graham Potter will have a happy Stamford Bridge return when his West Ham side visit Chelsea in the Premier League.
Since Potter’s arrival at The London Stadium, the Hammers have recorded one win, one draw and one loss in their three Premier League games.
The Hammers travel to Chelsea on Monday (3 February) where the boss will be hoping to get one over on his former side.
However, Sutton admitted he doesn’t see this happening as he said in his BBC Sport predictions (30 January): “Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter is back at the Bridge but I don’t see it being a happy return for him.
“West Ham have actually performed well since Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui, and looked lively, but results have still been mixed.
“Chelsea need a new goalkeeper and probably another centre-forward too if they are going to push on but even with what they have, I still think they will be too strong for West Ham. Prediction: 2-1.”
Graham Potter will want West Ham to come away with something from Chelsea
Despite being a highly rated manager, Potter’s time at Chelsea did not go to plan and he failed to live up to the expectations put upon him.
This can’t have been helped by the interference of those above the manager when it came to transfers but it will surely have left the manager feeling as though he has something to prove.
Although things haven’t been completely smooth sailing on the pitch since his arrival, after getting a good point against Aston Villa on Sunday (26 January), the Hammers do have something to build upon going into this game.

Away from home it will be a tough game and although Chelsea lost last time out, that was against Manchester City so may not disturb them too much.
As the Irons look to push themselves as far up the table as possible this term, they have to back themselves in this game and do all they can to come away with something from Stamford Bridge.
