Chris Sutton jokes about crazy Manchester City v West Ham United twist in Arsenal title admission

Chris Sutton has joked about whether or not West Ham United can beat Manchester City to hand Arsenal the Premier League title.

The Hammers make the trip to The Etihad for their final game under the Scotsman on Sunday (19 May) knowing that a rare win in Manchester will hand Mikel Arteta’s Gunners the opportunity to lift the Premier League title.

While Sutton admits it would be amazing to see the Irons win Moyes’ final game, he doesn’t believe that they will be able to stop Pep Guardiola’s side from winning a fourth consecutive league title.

Speaking on It’s All Kicking Off! (16 May, 21:00) he said: “I’m seeing it this way, David Moyes’ last game in charge of West Ham he will go there, beat City and Arsenal will probably stuff it up as well to Everton.

“I was joking, that’s not going to happen.”

Will West Ham United help Arsenal beat Manchester City to the title?

This game is set up for Moyes to leave the Hammers with a bang. While he can do very little to impact his side’s league position, the 61-year-old holds all the cards when it comes to what happens at the top of the table.

A win at the Etihad, however unlikely, would open the door for the Gunners to win their first title under Arteta if they can get across the line at Goodison Park. It’s not over the top to suggest the Irons could be king-makers.

David Moyes will be remembered fondly by West Ham supporters.

As Sutton and Moyes himself have previously suggested, it seems incredibly unlikely that the Hammers will go to the Etihad and claim all three points but stranger things have happened, especially on the final days of the season.

Hopefully, West Ham will be able to do all that they can to give the Scotsman an excellent send-off and maybe they will even be able to have an impact on the title race just to spice things up on the final day.
