Charlie Nicholas wowed by West Ham duo
West Ham United played a game of two halves against Everton on Saturday, but they will have to put in a more complete effort against Leicester City on Wednesday.
The Foxes are coming off a loss themselves, though, and so it’s not inconceivable that the Hammers could come away with something from the King Power.
There were a few individual performances against the Toffees that will give manager David Moyes confidence going into this game.
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas certainly thinks so, and that’s been enough for him to predict a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.
“I watched West Ham at the weekend and they had a very good first half but did not put the game to bed,” he wrote on the Sky Sports website.
“They missed the creativity from Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller was better – he should have scored a couple but didn’t. Mark Noble and Declan Rice were great, particularly Noble in the first half who was excellent.
“All of a sudden, Leicester are slumping. They are a bit unpredictable at the minute, and this makes me want to go with a draw once more.”
Was Noble the star for West Ham on Saturday?
West Ham were very strong in central midfield against Everton. Noble and Rice bullied Fabian Delph and Tom Davies, and looked a class above them, in truth.
The skipper was excellent. He broke up play very well and was able to control things pretty well for the most part.
Rice was also good, while Aaron Cresswell and Issa Diop had decent games as well, but Noble probably was the star, yes.
In other West Ham news, Teddy Sheringham is backing one Hammer to get back to top form soon.
