Charlie Adam launches staunch defence of West Ham United manager David Moyes amid sack calls
Charlie Adam believes David Moyes has done a “fantastic job” at West Ham United and is the man to propel them away from the Premier League relegation zone.

However, former Premier League player Adam, as relayed by The Scottish Sun on their transfer blog (11:42am, Saturday 28 Janaury), admitted he thought Moyes was going through a “transitional period” following the £160million spent on transfer in the summer.

“David Moyes has done a fantastic job at West Ham, let’s get that straight,” Adam told Grosvenor Sport.
“They were always going to suffer a little bit when going through a transitional period. If you want anyone to get you out of West Ham’s situation, it’s David Moyes.
“He’s a top manager and I believe he’s the right man to continue in the job, he can still improve them and he can also push them up the Premier League.”

Pressure eased
Although West Ham United are still within the clutches of the bottom three, the win against Everton was a huge boost to the morale of all those within the London Stadium.
Albeit against an Everton side in turmoil, a brace for Jarrod Bowen will do his confidence a world of good, and hopefully, he can move from strength to strength in the coming weeks.
He will definitely be a key player for Moyes in his fight against the sack as attacking duo Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings have both fallen foul to injuries, leaving the Scot with few options to choose from in the attacking third.
Alongside Michail Antonio, the Hammers boss will hope the duo can reignite their form from last season, which saw them become one of the most feared attacking pairs in the league.
However, with Premier League fixtures against Newcastle, Chelsea and Tottenham awaiting the Scot in the coming weeks, the pressure could well fall back on his shoulders if his side fail to pick up any points.
