C&H claims David Moyes future speculation is way off mark

Claret & Hugh have claimed that David Moyes is nowhere close to joining Everton and is set to stay at the London Stadium.

Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to leave Everton for Real Madrid led to huge speculation in the back pages as to who his successor is likely to be.

It came as no surprise when Moyes’ name was thrown in the mix, as the West Ham boss was formerly at the helm at Goodison Park.

From the offset, it seemed like media waffle to drive views from the romantics, and C&H’s recent update confirms that assessment.

On the C&H website, the reliable insider Sean Whetsone wrote, “Moyes speculation is way off the mark. Club insiders insist David Moyes has had no contact with Everton and they have had no contact with him whether directly or via intermediaries.

“West Ham and Moyes’ agent brother Kenny trashed out terms to a new three-year contract two weeks ago.

“The paperwork has now been drawn but there has no pressure from either side to be in a hurry to sign the deal as the football industry has some downtime before it all starts again.

“The club has told Claret and Hugh that the manager will sign his new deal but not to meet a deadline to quell false reports circulating the media.”

Fantastic news

We’d be lying if we told you we didn’t see it coming. There’s no possible reason for Moyes to even consider going back to a club in such turmoil.

West Ham

They may have made some good signings in the last few windows, but apart from that, there’s no good reason why they’re a better prospect than us.

Moyes has guided this team to Europa League football and has been assured funds this summer to strengthen this side and ensure that this past season was not a one-off.

We don’t care however long it takes to announce the new contract as we’re confident he’s going to be at the helm next summer.
