BT Sport pundit insists West Ham should have been awarded penalty against Burnley
West Ham were held to a goalless draw by Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday, but there were denied a penalty in the first-half.
Dwight McNeil brought down Craig Dawson while trying to clear the ball, and while the referee and VAR insisted it was nothing, Rachel Brown-Finnis reckoned the Hammers were denied a spot-kick.
Nothing could separate both teams at the end of the game today (12 December), and David Moyes will see the stalemate as two points dropped.

The BT Sport pundit said at half-time on Premier League productions: “Penalty. This one is a penalty. And again you can see why the referee is not seeing it, because there are so many bodies between his position and where the offence occurs, but when you see the camera facing Dwight McNeil there, there is no questioning that he swiped and missed the ball and made contact with Dawson, and it’s a penalty.”
Denied?
West Ham were denied several times by Nick Pope, but Burnley can count themselves lucky as the visitors should have been awarded a penalty.
Unfortunately for them, the officials believed the challenge was not worthy of a punishment, and there is nothing that can be done at the end of the day.
The Hammers were the better side and would have fancied their chances of picking up all three points had they been given the spot-kick.
They failed to fashion clear-cut opportunities for the rest of the game, though, and their lack of sharpness in attack cost them.
West Ham travel to Arsenal on Wednesday (15 December), and they will be looking to secure a win in order to remain fourth in the Premier League table.

The Gunners and Manchester United are breathing down their neck, and failure to bag a victory could see them drop down to sixth at the end of matchday 17.
They were not good enough against Burnley, and that needs to change against Mikel Arteta’s side and going forward.
