Bobby Zamora insists West Ham ace Declan Rice has a lot more to give

Bobby Zamora has gushed over West Ham key man Declan Rice, insisting that the 23-year-old doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

The England international London Stadium future is uncertain after the midfielder turned down his third contract from the Irons, as per Guardian.

Despite already showing massive amounts of quality in the Premier League and in major tournaments with England, Zamora was adamant that the Hammers stalwart still has a lot to give.

He told Sky Sports: “He’s experienced, he’s growing, he’s just becoming – for me – one of the ultimate midfielders in the Premier League, he genuinely is.

“I’ve had discussions with a lot of people about Declan and I don’t think he gets the credit he actually deserves and maybe a Europa League win and a cup will open people’s eyes to actually how good he is and what he does.

“He is one of those players that is you train with him, you play with him, you actually appreciate him even more than if you just watch him on the telly or as a fan in the stadium.

“He is one of those players that has everything and still has so much more to show.”

Inevitable.

Of course, he has so much more to give, that is why he hasn’t signed a new contract at West Ham.

Rice is a top-level player who has the pick of the bunch – he could easily play for any football team in the world at the moment which makes it very difficult to have any bad blood regarding his decision not to stay with the Irons beyond next season.

There is some hope that he will extend his contract or even make a u-turn and sign a new deal should David Moyes’ side win the Europa League but that seems very unlikely.

The former Chelsea youth ace is a class touch both on and off the pitch and he will undoubtedly finish his career with heaps of trophies and success.

It is a shame he isn’t staying in claret & blue but he has already given so much to this club and allowed them to be where they are now – on the cusp of greatness.

It would be the perfect send-off if he could lead the Irons to a European trophy and Champions League football.
