Bianca Westwood gushes over Michail Antonio after ‘fantastic goal’ in first half against Brighton

Sky Sports reporter Bianca Westwood was left in awe by Michail Antonio’s first-half goal for West Ham against Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

The Hammers’ number nine smashed a 40th-minute strike into the top corner to give Moyes’ side a halftime lead.

Westwood was full of praise for Antonio’s striker against the Seagulls which is currently taking the Irons into the Europa League next season.

Reporting for Sky Sports, Westwood said: “It’s an absolutely fantastic goal from Michail Antonio, he absolutely blasts it into the top left corner.”

“He smashes it into the net.”

European tour part two

The correct scores today could see the Irons sneak into sixth spot and secure a Europa League spot for next season ahead of Manchester United.

It would be a fitting end to a superb season for David Moyes’ side, but also a boost going into what promises to be a large squad overhaul at the London Stadium.

Europe’s best players want to be playing either Europa League or Champions League football and with the Irons looking to continue their upward trajectory, attracting the best players is a must.

With the level at the top of the Premier League getting higher and higher, it is crucial that the West Ham hierarchy invest this summer to give David Moyes a chance of competing again.

This season has seen Moyes work miracles with a depleted squad that has been ravaged by injuries at times.

It is time for David Gold, David Sullivan and Karen Brady to give Moyes a fighting chance of turning the Hammers into a consistent top six force.

West Ham deserve to be involved regularly in the top-six conversation.
