BBC pundit Ashley Williams slams Łukasz Fabiański after his Brighton mistake
BBC pundit Ashley Williams branded Lukasz Fabianski’s mistake against Brighton as a ‘gift’ as West Ham missed out on Europa League qualification.
The Hammers fell to a 3-1 defeat against the Seagulls which means David Moyes’ side will be playing Uefa Conference league football next season.
Fabianski let Joel Veltman’s 50th-minute strike through his body in what should’ve been a routine stop for the keeper and BBC pundit Williams was less than impressed.

Talking on BBC Final score [17:11], Williams said: “Fabianski has got to do better there.
“It’s a gift for Veltman and that could cost West Ham.”
Time for a change in goal?
Fabianski is coming to the end of his career and change is needed in the West Ham net.
With the Hammers rumoured to be keen on making Alphonse Areola’s loan spell permanent, Fabianski’s time at the London Stadium may be coming to an end.
Areola will not be content to be an understudy again next season if he does sign permanently.
This summer promises to be a bust transfer window for Moyes.

The Hammers have overperformed with a tiny squad that has been depleted by injuries.
It is crucial that the London Stadium hierarchy back Moyes in the summer with some quality additions to build on what they’ve achieved this season.
However, their failure to secure Europa League football will make it harder to attract a higher calibre of players.
By signing Areola it will provide Moyes with a long-term number one.
The Frenchman is 29 and has plenty of experience as well as a number of years left in his career.
