Barry Fry claims West Ham will not sell Declan Rice even for £125m
Peterborough director of football Barry Fry claims West Ham will not consider selling Declan Rice at any price this summer.
The England international has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea this summer as both Champions League sides are looking to sign a quality defensive midfielder this summer.
Rice fits the bill perfectly for both sides, and given the modern game, is capable of dropping into a back three to play as a centre-back – giving the team much-needed fluidity with and without the ball.

Moyes has stated that he’s confident of keeping hold of the player, but there is always been a possibility of David Gold and David Sullivan considering a sale if the right offer is tabled for the player.
However, according to Fry, that option is off the table. He believes that no amount of money would be enough for the London club to sell Rice this summer.
He told Football FanCast, “To be quite honest, knowing David Moyes and knowing the two Davids, Gold and Sullivan, they won’t sell him.
“No matter what comes up, if it’s £100 million or £125 million, they won’t sell him.
“Moyes has done a brilliant job considering last year they were relegation candidates and now they’re getting into Europe so what a turnaround in 12 months.”

Absolutely buzzing
The ‘will he, won’t he’ dynamic of transfer windows is one of the most annoying ordeals of every summer.
We know from the start of the calendar year that we’re in for something similar with Rice, given how his value has skyrocketed in these last 12 months.
Convincing him to stay is going to a challenge especially if there is an offer that exceeds the £100m valuation.

We don’t know for sure whether Fry is entirely confident about his assessment, but we think it will be difficult to keep him if that kind of offer is made.
That said, given how Chelsea have been spending and given Man United’s plans of signing Jadon Sancho for big money, it’s unlikely either club could afford to pay him that much.
The only case we sell him is if he hands in a transfer request after agreeing terms with someone.
As of now, it looks like he stays on this summer and will be playing continental football with us on Thursday nights next season.
