Arsenal confident of West Ham United Declan Rice agreement after £105m bid

Arsenal believed they will win the race to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice after submitting a British-record fee, according to talkSPORT.

Sky Sports report on Wednesday 28 June that the Gunners have submitted a bid of £100million plus £5million in add-ons for the 24-year-old.

TalkSPORT now claim (28 June) that Arsenal are confident of landing the England star and seeing off competition from Manchester City.

Getting there

It feels as if we are getting there when it comes to Rice’s move to The Emirates.

A move to Arsenal has always been his primary objective. The midfielder is completely convinced by the project that Mikel Arteta is pitching in North London and West Ham are highly unlikely to turn this offer down.

Manchester City have been lurking in the background but Rice’s desire has always been to remain in the capital. Most West Ham fans will be hoping for their star man to make the move to the North West.

His next move has to be worthwhile.

Yes, Arsenal enjoyed an excellent 2022/23 season, but they will have to go some to compete with Manchester City once again next year. Rice needs to depart to take his game to the next level. Under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola, he would become one of, if not the best midfielders on the planet.

Joining Arsenal would be a risk, with success and trophies far from guaranteed.

David Sullivan won’t be concerned about Rice’s success at his next club – it’s all about getting the best fee to allow the Hammers to progress on the pitch.
