Antonio torn to shreds after West Ham star involved in embarrassing incident
Neil Moxley has taken aim at Michail Antonio after he was unable to represent Jamaica because he lost his passport.
The West Ham man was not part of the action as his country took on USA in the recent international break.
Jamaica lost the game 4-2 with the forward, who has 21 caps for his side, unable to have any impact on his side’s fate.
Moxley wrote in the Sunday People [24 November, page 54] that the 34-year-old’s excuse was not good enough as he wrote: “It’s right up there with ‘dog ate homework’ as far as excuses go.”
More needed from Antonio for West Ham and Jamiaca
Being unable to play for his country due to a silly error like this is not a great reflection on Antonio and while he may not have been able to save his side from defeat, he certainly could have added something for them on the pitch.
Although it has been a slow start to the season for the Hammers generally, the striker will no doubt be disappointed to have only scored one goal for his side so far in this campaign.

With his lack of goals in return, this is an even worse situation for the experienced player as the international break would have been a good opportunity to gain minutes away from club football and try to get himself firing again.
As the Premier League gets back up and running again, Antonio will be required to offer more for his side on the pitch and hopefully, he will be able to distract from a situation which will have no doubt left him embarrassed.
