Anton Ferdinand predicts final West Ham position in Nuno Espirito Santo reveal
Anton Ferdinand expects West Ham United to finish the Premier League season in a better position under Nuno Espirito Santo.
The former defender is delighted with the changes he’s seen at the Hammers recently, as they’re now level on points in 17th-place Burnley.
Relegation seemed likely at the London Stadium under Graham Potter, but the 3-2 win over Burnley on 8 November at home has reignited the Irons’ campaign.
Nuno has now gained more points from losing positions in the Premier League than Potter and Julen Lopetegui combined at the East London club, highlighting the shift in E20.

Nuno Espirito Santo perfect manager for West Ham
Ferdinand believes Nuno has the aura to be the Hammers’ boss.
The ex-centre-back has met and been around the Portuguese manager, and can’t wait to see what he can achieve at the London Stadium.
With the Irons 18th in the Premier League right now, there’s belief the former Nottingham Forest boss can lead them further up the table.
Speaking on DR Sports on 14 November, Ferdiand said: “It’s been tough. But every year is tough. The Premier League is the best league in the world. Every year is tough. There have been some changes. I’ve been lucky enough to meet Nuno and be around him. He’s got the aura of a West Ham manager.”
“He’s someone I’m excited to see how far he can take the football club. The fact that we’ve been in a hard spot at the start of the season, but we’re starting to see changes. As a West Ham fan, I’m happy. I’m confident. And I think we will be in a better position come the end of the season.”
Nuno still has a long way to go to secure Premier League survival, but signs in recent weeks have shown he’s more than capable of it.
Nuno Espirito Santo to guarantee London Stadium survival with January transfer
Niclas Fullkrug’s fitness issues have continued to trouble him at the London Stadium this season, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave in January.
However, West Ham aren’t blessed with many options up front, with Callum Wilson and Callum Marshall the other natural number nines.
Nuno’s priority should be signing a new striker in the winter transfer window, with the defence and midfield looking more stable under him.
The Portuguese manager will surely be able to guarantee Premier League survival if he gets a reliable goalscorer, but only time will tell whether the Hammers will invest in one.
