Angers accept West Ham United target Azzedine Ounahi will leave in January

Angers have reportedly accepted that West Ham target Azzedine Ounahi is going to leave the club in January.

According to 90 Min [17 December], the club are hoping to retain a decent squad in order to avoid relegation from Ligue 1 this season.

They have even gone on record to state that they’ll be willing to cash in on the Hammers target but will demand a club-record fee north of £22million for the 22-year-old.

West Ham

Worth it?

Player valuations often tend to hike after their performances in major tournaments and the same is the case with Ounahi.

While there were clubs keeping tabs on him earlier, his name is now being discussed a lot more now than it ever was.

At 22, he also offers a good option for not just the present, but also the future so we can understand why clubs like Barcelona are also being mentioned.

That being said, to make Morocco look like one of the best teams takes some doing and Ounahi was at the heart of their transition play.

As they spent most of the time without the ball, he had to be in position and close down the opponents when given the chance, but after his side won the ball, he often skipped past challenges in order to play the final passes to one of the three attacking players to begin the counter.

David Moyes’ West Ham also play in a similar way and if there’s a chance to get him, we believe the Scotsman would want the board to sanction it.
