Andy Carroll seen at West Ham training ground car park

English striker Andy Carroll has been seen in the car park of West Ham United’s Rush Green training ground, according to WestHamFans.Org.

The 33-year-old is a free agent after his short-term contract with Reading expired over the weekend, and he has been linked with potentially joining the Hammers on a short-term appearance-based deal until the end of the season.

Carroll still has a property that is located not that far from the Romford training ground, and while his car was spotted in the Goose Green car park last week, with one of the security men confirming it to WestHamFans.Org, it is unknown if it has anything to do with a transfer.

Hope?

The former England international was without a club this season after he was released by Newcastle last summer, but Reading handed him a two-month deal last November after impressing on trial.

He was being paid only £1,000 per week to play for the Royals, and should the Irons hand him a deal, he will likely not cost them a lot of wages like he did first time out.

Carroll scored twice in eight appearances for the club, with a pair of screamers disallowed in the space of a minute last week.

He is not ideally the type of cover West Ham would want in their bid to challenge in the top-four, but a pay-per-play deal until summer could make sense.

Carroll is still very much hungry to prove himself, and should he manage to keep maintaining his recent fitness, he could turn out to be a solid addition to the Hammers’ striking department.

Seeing him around the club’s facility could mean nothing given his closeness to some of his former teammates, but he is looking for a new club, and just maybe something could work out.
