Andy Carroll might be offered short-term deal at West Ham
Andy Carroll might be offered a short-term appearance-based deal until the end of the season at West Ham, according to WestHamFans.Org.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at Championship outfit Reading, and while they are trying to hand him an extension, he is a wanted man in the Premier League, with Burnley and the Hammers keen.
Nevertheless, WestHamFans.Org quickly pointed out that the rumour should not be taken very seriously, suggesting a deal is far from happening.

They said: “One very strange rumour we have heard of that is doing the rounds is that none other than Andy Carroll MIGHT be offered a short term appearance-based deal until the end of the season!
“Reading manager Veljko Paunovic is confident that former England striker Andy Carroll will stay at the Championship strugglers after his short-term deal ended on Saturday.
“However, Burnley are also interested in the 33-year-old, so the rumours need to be taken with more than a pinch of salt!”
Worth it?
The former England international striker has been in fine form for the second-division side, bagging two goals and an assist in eight league games so far this term.
Carroll has had his fair share of disallowed goals too, so he is proving that he can stay fit and find the back of the net.
Could bringing him back to West Ham be a good move?
It is going to be a gamble without a doubt, but signing him on a short-term appearance-based deal until the end of 2021-22 could be better than ending the January transfer window without landing another striker.
David Moyes has to bring in a cover for Michail Antonio, and someone like Carroll offers something different off the bench.
His aerial prowess could present the Irons with a different option, but whether they are indeed keen on him remains to be seen.

A lot of fans will be open to having him back, and he has proven in recent months that he still has it in him.
But can he replicate that form in the top-flight?
Reading would be very keen to hold on to him, but if West Ham move, he could be very tempted.
