Ally McCoist makes ‘excellent’ West Ham United admission after what he’s seen
Ally McCoist hailed West Ham United’s forward line as “excellent” and thinks the Hammers will be fine in the Premier League this season.
Julen Lopetegui’s side had lost each of their three home Premier League games this season prior to Saturday’s (5 October) emphatic 4-1 win over Ipswich Town at the London Stadium.
It saw the Irons move up to 12th in the table and McCoist thinks the vast array of attacking talent at West Ham’s disposal means they will continue on an upward trajectory.
Speaking live on talkSPORT to Bianca Westwood (8 October, 06:48am), McCoist said: “I think your front four is excellent, I really do.
“Antonio came in and scored, Bowen, Paqueta and Kudus, I’ve got to say I like that, I think particularly at home you’ll be absolutely fine”.
West Ham United need to win against Tottenham
West Ham’s season has been far from perfect. They managed to comprehensively beat the Tractor Boys 4-1, but need to capitalise on the momentum gained from the win when they return to action after the international break.
Their next Premier League clash comes against Tottenham and the timing of facing their fierce rivals could scarcely have come at a better time given Spurs managed to bottle a two-goal lead against Brighton in their most recent clash, losing 3-2.
West Ham’s forward line is arguably the best area of their squad with players such as Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and new summer arrival Crysencio Summerville [Fabrizio Romano, 3 August] among the players Lopetegui has at his disposal.

Indeed, that forward line will be a crucial component against a Spurs side who have been defensively susceptible this season, a weakness that was wildly exposed in the second half against the Seagulls.
The Hammers’ performance against Ipswich was far from perfect despite the convincing win and changes could still be made to make things better but the fact that Alan Shearer believes they were “too good” for Kieran McKenna’s men shows they’re taking a step in the right direction.
