Ally McCoist left stunned live on TNT Sports after what ‘magnificent’ Lucas Paqueta did in West Ham United 2-0 win v Manchester United

Ally McCoist was left stunned after Lucas Paqueta’s pass for the first West Ham United goal as they triumphed over Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

The Hammers scored twice in six minutes to condemn the Red Devils to an eighth Premier League defeat of the season at the London Stadium (23 December).

As a result, West Ham leapfrog them into sixth place in the table after goals from Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus ensured the home team grabbed their second successive league win.

And McCoist could not hide his delight after Paqueta’s pass for Bowen’s opener which the Englishman took advantage of an error from the Manchester United defence following Paqueta’s “magnificent” pass.

The Scottish pundit said: “That pass there is magnificent. He takes the touch, goes back off him, how do you like it?

“Jarrod Bowen, it’s another massively important goal, the finish is good but it’s all about the pass.

“The pass from Paqueta is absolutely a dream because you just see Luke Shaw thinking he can get it but no, he can’t, great pass!”

Stunning

When you possess the likes of Paqueta, Bowen and Mohammed Kudus in your team, you’re always in with a chance of being completely wowed and that’s what McCoist and the West Ham United fans had the joy of experiencing on Saturday afternoon.

Paqueta is an absolute joy to watch when he’s in this mood and absolutely deserves an assist for Bowen’s goal but it’s now four assists in his last two games for the Hammers.

Right now, David Moyes’ decision to drop him for the midweek EFL Cup tie against Liverpool is absolutely baffling and will have given the Irons more of a chance at Anfield.

However, the Brazilian was kept fresh for the Manchester United clash and delivered another masterclass in the space of six minutes with some wonderful creative play, especially the first-time pass for Kudus’ goal.

Wonderful and majestic footballer Paqueta is.
