Ally McCoist gives David Moyes ‘no chance’ of sack at West Ham despite cup exit
West Ham United may have been dumped out of the Carabao Cup on penalties but Ally McCoist does not see David Moyes’ job being under threat.
The Irons have been less than impressive in domestic games this season with just one win in their last five leaving them 15th in the Premier League.
Things are going swimmingly in Europe so far but the League Cup defeat to Championship side Blackburn Rovers could have heaped pressure on the boss although McCoist doesn’t see how he can be sacked anytime soon.

“No, no chance,” McCoist said on talkSPORT [10 November, 08:45am] when asked whether Moyes could be sacked. “They got to a European semi-final last season.
“They’re a little bit like Leicester to a degree and they had a better start than they did although Leicester are ahead on goal difference right now.
“They’ve just not started firing yet but I’ve not got any problems at all with Moyes staying.”
Too soon
Owners of football clubs can sometimes be guilty of panicking very early and pulling the trigger on somebody that could have been the answer to their problems given the time.

West Ham backed Moyes considerably over the summer with some very big purchases designed to try and get the side into European places on a regular basis after two successive continental qualifications.
Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta have not turned up at the London Stadium expecting the manager to be given the boot a couple of months later.
Moyes has done fantastic things for the Hammers since he returned to the dugout when they were fighting relegation and that can’t be ignored right now.
Should they plummet to the bottom of the table at the start of 2023 then maybe a change can be considered but it is far too soon to suggest Moyes should be sacked at this moment in time.
