Alan Shearer wowed by ‘absolute bargain’ James Ward-Prowse in West Ham United 3-2 win v Nottingham Forest
West Ham ace James Ward-Prowse has been named in the Premier League Team of the Week by pundit Alan Shearer.
The midfielder registered two assists as the Hammers defeated Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the league on Sunday (12 November).
Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek scored for the hosts, with Taiwo Awoniyi and Anthony Elanga netting for the visitors.

Midfield star Ward-Prowse joined the East London club from Southampton in the summer transfer window, signing a contract until 2027.
Speaking to the official Premier League website, Shearer said of Ward-Prowse: “Impressed in midfield and weighed in with two assists. An absolute bargain.”

Assist king
Ward-Prowse has been one of the Premier League’s best midfielders in recent years, with the 29-year-old starring for Southampton before their recent relegation to the Championship.
A transfer battle then seemingly ensued for his signature in the summer window, and much to the delight of Hammers supporters everywhere, it was West Ham who won the race.
And neither party have looked back since, with Ward-Prowse boasting two goals and a stunning nine assists from his 16 appearances in claret and blue so far.
The East London outfit are now really dangerous from set-pieces thanks to the midfielder’s deadly deliveries, with his ability on show at the London Stadium against Forest as Bowen and Soucek both scored headers from his corners.
Ward-Prowse isn’t, of course, just limited to set-piece deliveries, with the midfield ace also chipping in with pinpoint passes in open play, which go well alongside his dribbling and tackling abilities.
In other West Ham news, Hammers co-owner David Sullivan has made a Moyes sack decision at the London Stadium club.
