Alan Shearer shares if West Ham United and David Moyes can pull off shock win v Manchester City
West Ham United will make it incredibly hard for Manchester City to win the Premier League title ahead of Arsenal, according to Alan Shearer.
The Hammers make the trip to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (19 May) for David Moyes’ final game in charge and if they manage to claim all three points they could stop Pep Guardiola’s side from winning the league.
While most pundits expect the Hammers to roll over and lose against the Champions, Shearer admits that he expects the Irons to pose a reasonable threat, although he insists City will find a way to get over the line.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football (17 May) he said: “City I don’t think they will slip up at all, but there will be moments during the afternoon on Sunday where we’re all sat there thinking, no this can’t happen.
“I don’t think it will be as simple as a lot of people think, but I do think come the end of the day it will be Man City’s.”
Will Manchester City win the title with a win over West Ham United and David Moyes?
While West Ham may not have a lot to play for other than their own pride and Moyes in Manchester on Sunday, their performance could determine who lifts the title if they manage to cause an upset.
It may be rather unlikely, especially when considering their bleak recent record when facing the Premier League champions away from home, but much stranger things have happened on the final day of the season.

A lot of this squad will be playing to impress their new manager, who looks set to be former Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui, therefore a good performance will help the Irons stars make an excellent first impression.
Hopefully, for Moyes and all the neutrals watching, the Irons will at least make the title race interesting on the final day. What a way to end his career in East London it would be if he managed to pull the title away from Guardiola.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers will have been interested in a new update from Burnley involving Josh Brownhill
