Alan Shearer picks West Ham man in PL Team of the Week
There can’t have been many people watching West Ham United’s 4-0 destruction of Bournemouth on Thursday who weren’t impressed.
The east London outfit looked absolutely transformed from the stale, stagnant side who have laboured all season long under Manuel Pellegrini.
With former boss David Moyes back at the controls against the Cherries, though, everything was good again.
There were positive performances aplenty from the men in claret and blue, and one in particular which caught the eye of the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer Alan Shearer.
The Newcastle United hero included Hammers skipper Mark Noble in his top flight Team of the Week, as revealed on the Premier League’s official Twitter account on Friday.
The nod comes as a reward for the 32-year-old after he produced a sterling effort capped off by scoring two of the Irons’ four goals.
That both goals came from his only two shots in the game, and that he also produced a key pass, an assist and achieved a pass success rate of 87.5%, says it all about how dominant the Englishman was against Eddie Howe’s beleaguered strugglers.
In other West Ham news, Noble himself has been speaking about one Hammers player who really impressed him on Wednesday.
