Alan Shearer blown away by Moyes masterclass v Liverpool
West Ham manager David Moyes got the better of his Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp for the first time on Sunday, handing him a 3-2 defeat.
It was the eighth time both bosses were meeting, and the result ended the Reds 25-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
Alan Shearer was blown away by the Hammers’ performance at the London Stadium, and he has showered encomium on their manager.
The Premier League legend wrote in his official Team of the Week column: “A Moyes masterclass! The Scot is showing just how good a manager he is and is getting the very best out of this fantastic West Ham team.
“Liverpool’s first loss in 25 matches too.”
Elite
Moyes’ struggles at Manchester United threatened to end his career, with underwhelming spells at Real Sociedad and Sunderland further dealing blows on his chances of getting a big job.
However, he has redeemed himself and proven that he still has what it takes to manage at an elite level over both of his West Ham spells.
Having kept them up twice, he is now looking to lead them into Europe’s elite competition for the first time in their history.
That will be a huge achievement considering the amount of those that have failed to get the Hammers into that level, and the biggest Premier League clubs will definitely be keeping an eye on him.
With what he has achieved so far, it would not be surprising if the bigwigs look to lure him away from the London Stadium.
Moyes is blowing everyone away, and he could end up ending West Ham’s 41-year major trophy drought.
