Alan Pardew makes England prediction on West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen in James Maddison comparison mad

Alan Pardew has been extremely impressed by West Ham star Jarrod Bowen this season, prompting him to suggest that the winger could travel to EURO 2024 with England this summer.

The 27-year-old notched a goal and an assist against Liverpool on Saturday 27 April, taking his Premier League tally up to 16 goals and six assists this season.

Pardew certainly agrees and thinks with Tottenham ace James Maddison struggling for form, Bowen might get the nod for the squad.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Sunday (28 April, 8:30pm), the former Hammers boss said: “The one player I do want to shout out is Bowen.

“He reached 16 goals yesterday, and the last person to do that for West Ham was Di Canio. That’s how good Bowen has been this year.

“He won a European trophy with that winning goal last season. I would argue that he has been West Ham’s best signing in the Premier League.

“With Maddison not being at the levels we would have hoped for, Bowen might find himself in that [England] team.”

Does West Ham United ace Jarrod Bowen deserve an England spot?

Bowen is the first player since Marlon Harewood during the 2004/05 campaign to score 20 goals or more in a single season for West Ham. Just for that stat alone, he deserves to be noted as the Hammers’ best signing of the Premier League era.

The Londoners have experienced their fair share of transfer fails over the years, ranging from Jordan Hugill and Xande Silva to Emmanuel Emenike and Simone Zaza.

However, Bowen is one signing that will be praised for years to come, having recorded 60 goals and 39 assists in 200 appearances.

Considering his outrageous form this season, the winger certainly deserves a chance to prove himself on the international stage and should be considered by Gareth Southgate after impressing in the recent international friendlies.

England currently have a number of players out of form, such as Maddison, Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford who could all be pipped to Euro 2024 by the West Ham man.

West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen
Jarrod Bowen has scored some important goals for West Ham United this season.

With his ability to deputise up front or on the wing, he would provide cover in two separate areas on the pitch and has already proven himself as a massive goal threat at the London Stadium.

It would be a huge surprise if England touched down in Germany this summer without Bowen on the plane.

In other West Ham news, David Moyes was criticised as a double transfer has been mooted.
