Alan Pardew amazed as Julen Lopetegui sack verdict shared at West Ham United

Alan Pardew has claimed that West Ham United look like conceding goals every time they play, while adding he expects the Irons to do business in January.

Yet another defeat for West Ham piled further pressure on Julen Lopetegui, with Man City the latest to secure all three points against the Irons on Saturday (4 January).

Life under Lopetegui hasn’t been close to what many expected and, should the Hammers fall to defeat against Aston Villa in the FA Cup, it could be the final nail in the coffin for the Spaniard at the London Stadium [talkSPORT].

Pardew, speaking live on talkSPORT (5 January, 8:53 pm), said: “I’m shaking my head because every time I see them, they look like they’re going to concede goals.

“They also look like they’re going to score, which is a positive, but I mean wow. It’s a tricky time over there. I’d expect them to do business this window, but we’ll see.”

How is Julen Lopetegui still in a job at West Ham?

Even the most optimistic of football supporters will find it a near impossible task to highlight even the slightest indication that Lopetegui has the ability to turn things around at West Ham, and it just begs the question as to why he is still in the job.

Each week seems to provide a new low for the Hammers and the constant regression can be pinned on the inability of the Spaniard to lead a team.

The constant talk about his potential sacking is getting tiring for everyone involved in the club but no more than that of supporters, who are seeing their club fall further down the table each and every week.

That rot needs to stop but, until Lopetegui is given the boot, it simply won’t and it’s just impossible to see the vision of those among the hierarchy who appear to be backing him.

Results have been poor but performances have been even worse and they simply won’t change for the better as long as he is in charge.
