Alan Pardew agrees with ‘not ideal’ Jarrod Bowen claim after England win
Alan Pardew believes that being at West Ham is harming Jarrod Bowen’s chances with England.
Bowen was left on the bench for the win over Serbia, but he starred away from West Ham in the victory over Albania on 16 November.
However, the West Ham star’s World Cup chances are under threat as Thomas Tuchel is not necessarily convinced about his ability.
Pardew thinks that would not be an issue, if he played for a club with a higher standing than the London Stadium outfit.

Jarrod Bowen would get in England team if he was at a bigger club
Pardew agreed with the view that there would be no doubts about Bowen if he played for a bigger club.
The ex-Hammers boss agreed with a caller on talkSPORT on 16 November, claiming that the situation that the 28-year-old finds himself in at club level is not helping his chances.
Responding to the call (19:57 pm), he said: “I am agreeing with you, if he was at a bigger club, of course, there would be more spotlight on him, because they’re [West Ham] are down the bottom of the league, not winning games.
“If he was at you know, Arsenal and they are winning every week, and he is in the first-team, of course that spotlight is going to be greater.
“He is at West Ham and he is having a fight to get them out of the relegation situation, so it is not ideal for him, but he certainly does a good job and has a lot of talent.”
West Ham’s Bowen should be starting for England
Bukayo Saka seems to have the starting spot locked up on the right-wing, unless he suffers from an injury before the tournament.
However, that should not be the case, as Bowen has better numbers in a much worse team, over the past few seasons.
Saka gets more opportunities because his side attack more, but the Irons star boasts more goal contributions since the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
In the two seasons before this campaign, Bowen has notched 22 goals and 15 assists, while the Gunners star recorded 22 goals and 19 assists.

This season, the Hammers ace has three goals and one assist, while Saka has three goals and is without an assist to his name.
Despite that fact, Saka still enjoys the number one status under Tuchel, and Bowen seems to be facing a battle to even make the squad for the competition next summer.
It would not be a bold call if the E20 ace was selected over Mikel Arteta’s man, but unfortunately, Pardew is probably right, Bowen won’t get the recognition that he deserves while with the Hammers.
