Alan Brazil shares why he’s ‘Gutted’ for West Ham fans despite win v Arsenal in Carabao Cup

Alan Brazil has revealed why he’s gutted for the West Ham fans despite an impressive 3-1 victory against Arsenal on 1 November.

The Hammers spoilt Declan Rice’s return to the London Stadium as they secured an impressive result which knocked the Gunners out of the Carabao Cup.

With that win, they now face Liverpool at Anfield next and Brazil believes that it will not have been the draw most fans would’ve hoped for.

He told talkSPORT at 6:14am on 2 November, “If you’re a West Ham fan, you’re gutted you have to go to Anfield next. But Arsenal, you think, ‘come on’. They’re going to push Manchester City to win anything but they’re not there.”

One game at a time

For West Ham fans, beating Rice and Arsenal so comprehensively was a result that they were looking for before the game.

The Gunners, a side challenging for the title, did not seem to have the answers against a well-drilled David Moyes side.

The Hammers gave nothing away to the visitors and the Scotsman will be thrilled with the performance of his players.

West Ham

They looked hungrier and more up for it than the opposition and it’s no surprise that they came out victorious.

Facing Liverpool anywhere is not going to be easy but few would’ve given West Ham a chance to go past Arsenal either.

That’s the beauty of cup competitions and the fans will not mind another deep run into a tournament after enjoying success in Europe last season.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now frustrated with a £10m player as a behind-the-scenes revelation has emerged from the London Stadium.
