Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist agree on West Ham United in Manchester City v Arsenal title verdict

Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist have agreed that West Ham can still have a major say as Manchester City and Arsenal battle it out for the Premier League title.

The Hammers travel to the Etihad Stadium on the final day of the season (19 May), taking on Pep Guardiola’s Man City side as they look to claim their fourth consecutive Premier League trophy.

An unlikely win for David Moyes’ side, however, would hand Arsenal the perfect opportunity to beat Everton and leapfrog the current champions for their league title since the 2003/04 season, while even a point for the Hammers would leave the door ajar for the Gunners.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Wednesday (15 May, 6:08am), Brazil said: “It’s West Ham’s to lose now. Moyes won’t lay down, they’ll get behind the ball and try to make it tough. So, it will still be a wee bit nervy.”

McCoist agreed before stating: “If it’s a draw, then Arsenal score a couple and win the title. “

West Ham United to decide Premier League title race

It would be an incredible turn of events to see Moyes spurn Man City’s opportunity to win their fourth consecutive league title in his final game as West Ham manager.

The Hammers’ campaign has been full of ups and downs, with the Scot’s exit from the London Stadium just the tip of the iceberg after facing immense pressure due to his style of football and poor results since the turn of the year.

However, leaving the managerial role with a victory that would deny City an unprecedented fourth straight Premier League title would be a huge message to the club’s hierarchy, which could also see Declan Rice lift the league trophy.

West Ham United manager David Moyes
David Moyes will be remembered fondly by West Ham supporters.

It might be tough for some to watch the former West Ham captain lift the Premier League trophy after leaving the club last summer, while others will be extremely proud of how he has performed for the Gunners.

While the Irons face Man City at the Etihad Stadium, Arsenal welcome in-form Everton to the Emirates on Sunday, which could also be a game that causes trouble for the title hopefuls.
