AC Milan explore loan move Gianluca Scamacca as West Ham United door opens
AC Milan are exploring a loan move for West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca, according to Italian newspaper, Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Gazzetta report on 22 May (pg 31, print edition), that an “interesting opening” has emerged for the 24-year-old to return to Italy on a temporary basis.
It’s believed the Rossoneri’s management want to make sure that the centre forward has fully recovered from his knee surgery before making a move. Juventus are also understood to be interested.
Hold fire
West Ham shouldn’t be looking to loan the Italian out. He still has a lot to give in a claret and blue shirt and should be given a chance by David Moyes next season. He has all the attributes to be a successful number nine in the Premier League.
He’s quick, strong, clever on the ball and able to play with his back to goal. He signed a long-term deal with the club and there’s no chance the board would allow him to depart.

The onus is now on the 24-year-old to get himself back match-fit for the new season. There’s an extended break now which presents the Italian with the ideal chance to recover and make an impression during pre-season. With Michail Antonio’s future also in doubt, the forward could see more gametime next season.
Antonio is 33 now and his performance levels will only head in one direction from now on. He’s been an immense servant over a number of years but now feels like the right time for him to move on.
