‘Absolute mess’ – talkSPORT pundit launches attack on West Ham United duo

Jason Cundy has slammed David Sullivan and David Gold for turning West Ham United into an “absolute mess” during their tenure in charge of the club.

The talkSPORT pundit has claimed that the Irons’ demise has been happening ever since they left Upton Park, and the co-owners are to blame for that.

West Ham are in trouble in the Premier League and are teetering on the edge of the relegation zone, only outside of it on goal difference.

Cundy slammed the Hammers duo, claiming that they are turning the club into a cheap mess, with all the blame on their shoulders.

“It’s a mess at West Ham, it’s an absolute mess, and this isn’t just something that’s happened in the last six months, it’s happened since they moved to the new stadium,” he said on talkSPORT.

“The decline has been slow, gradual, and the two Davids – they are the ones that have got West Ham into this mess.

“But they’ve now moved into this new stadium – it’s tacky and cheap. That’s what West Ham have turned into, and that is not West Ham Football Club, they are not that, but they have turned into it.”

Moving away from Upton Park certainly didn’t help the Irons, with the hostile atmosphere instantly taken away from the home side, something that will have intimidated any visiting teams in the past.

Both Gold and Sullivan have thrown a big amount of money at the club in recent years though, breaking the transfer record numerous times in the deals for Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop and Sebastien Haller.

West Ham have spent just below £100million in the past year, that is the eight-best in the Premier League according to Transfermarkt – so the problem could be much deeper than just the board with the club currently 17th.
