Aaron Cresswell exit update as West Ham United fail to agree transfer fee with Wolves

West Ham have failed to agree on a transfer fee with Wolves for defender Aaron Cresswell who appeared likely to leave, per Six Foot Two.

The reliable source on news emerging from the London Stadium claim [27 July] that the chances of him leaving are now 50-50.

The Athletic reported on 19 July that Wolves were in talks with the Hammers to secure the services of the 33-year-old.

Given his age, it’s hard to fathom a scenario where the Hammers can get better money for him six or 12 months later.

If they cannot agree on a deal, they will be missing out on a crucial windfall that can then be reinvested into the side.

The time is now to cash in on his services and Wolves know that which is why they seem to be playing a long negotiation game.

It seems like they’re currently the only side keen on securing the left-back’s services so they feel that they have time to delay talks.

West Ham

There appears to be a feeling that they want the Hammers to lower their valuation and meet where they seem to be rating the player.

West Ham have Emerson and may look to sign another left-back or perhaps move Ben Johnson there if they do not bring in a new one.

Cresswell’s days are numbered and it’s best for all parties if he’s played his last game for the Hammers.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
