£300m war chest update as West Ham United expect £100m+ bid for Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United target Declan Rice

West Ham are reportedly confident that one of the clubs will make a £100million+ bid for Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United target Declan Rice.

According to the Mirror [25 June, page 79], City have a £300million war chest this summer to shell out on new players with Rice understood to be among their targets.

The 24-year-old is understood to be keen on moving to Arsenal, but the treble winners have the money to spend and an offer could be on the cards.

The Telegraph even reported on 21 June that Manchester United were ready to offer cash along with Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay for the West Ham captain.

Rice is one of the most in-demand players in the world and the biggest asset the Hammers have ever had from a financial standpoint.

They know that their summer activity largely depends on how much they can raise from the 24-year-old’s sale so they’re doing their best to raise as much money as they possibly can.

The England international may prefer a move to the London Stadium but if Arsenal are not able to match the Hammers’ valuation, it may not be a decision he’s got to make.

He may prefer life in London and being part of the project that makes the Gunners a Premier League winning team, but if City match what West Ham want, a bid will be accepted and if he turns it down, there’s a chance of him staying at the London Stadium as well.

Given City’s riches, Arsenal know that they’re fighting a tough battle but as Rice seems to be their priority this summer, they are unlikely to give up that easily.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are already preparing to cash in on the Declan Rice money as they hold a transfer meeting in London as they’re confident of sealing a £50million signing.
