‘Wow’ – Daniel Gabbidon blown away by ‘World Class’ moment in West Ham draw v City
West Ham United picked up a point against Manchester City on Saturday, drawing 1-1 in the Premier League.
The Hammers were dominated in the early stages at the London Stadium, but one moment of magic changed all of that.
Vladimir Coufal’s cross found Michail Antonio, who with his back to goal managed to bicycle kick the ball past Ederson in the City goal.
It was a superb moment, and Antonio managed to continue his great goalscoring run against one of the Premier League’s best.
Many West Ham legends reacted to the strike on social media, with Rio Ferdinand sharing a bucketload of fire emojis to celebrate the goal.
Daniel Gabbidon was shocked too, claiming that it was another “world-class” moment from Antonio in the final third.
“Wow,” he wrote. “World-class that from Antonio.”
Looking at WyScout, his expected goal tally was once again below one, although that didn’t seem to stop him from performing.
Against the likes of Manchester City, you won’t get many chances and taking little opportunities like the one he did is the difference between picking up one point or none.
The goal was an amazing moment, but the 30-year-old has sparked some worry after being dragged off the pitch for Andriy Yarmolenko.
Antonio would be a massive miss, and David Moyes will be crossing his fingers that there isn’t an injury blow coming his way.
