West Ham’s 10-year wait to go on as supercomputer predicts Man City result

West Ham face Man City in the Premier League on Saturday.

It’s been a dreadful campaign for West Ham so far, who have won just two games dating all the way back to August.

West Ham’s 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa has left them winless in their last five, with pressure slowly starting to creep up on Nuno Espirito Santo.

Relegation is a real possibility for the Hammers if their form doesn’t improve drastically, but as per the latest Opta supercomputer predictions, that isn’t likely to happen this weekend.

Man City clear favourites for West Ham clash

Pep Guardiola’s side have lost just once at home so far this season, while West Ham have won just once on their travels.

That shows the magnitude of the task ahead, as does the Hammers’ recent record against Man City over the years.

Their last win against the Cityzens was back in 2015, when Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho scored in the first half to make sure of a 2-1 win at the Etihad.

However, that wait for a victory is predicted to go on by Opta, with Man City favourites for the clash.

The hosts have a 76.1 per cent chance of victory this weekend, while the Irons, with a 9.7 per cent chance of taking three points, are the least likely Premier League team to win their encounter this weekend.

West Ham must break City’s 17-year record this weekend

Given recent performances and the fact that West Ham have several players missing for AFCON, it’s hard to see where their next win is going to come.

Given Man City’s home form, it seems unlikely to be this weekend, and that is only amplified by their record against teams placed in the bottom three.

Man City haven’t lost a home league game against a side in the relegation zone since they did so against Tottenham back in 2008.

Since then, they have won 42 of the 46 fixtures, as well as each of the last 14.

It certainly looks like a weekend of more misery for Nuno and West Ham.
