West Ham vs Burnley injury and suspension latest as eight players to miss Premier League clash

As many as eight players could be absent from the London Stadium as West Ham prepare to face Burnley.

This weekend is a huge one when it comes to the relegation battle, with West Ham set to face Burnley, and Leeds United set to face Nottingham Forest.

All four sides are in the relegation fight, showcasing the importance of getting a result for the Irons at the London Stadium.

However, the Hammers will have to do that without one of their key players, with up to eight regulars set to sit this weekend’s game out.

Jean-Clair Todibo set to miss Burnley clash

West Ham’s defeat to Chelsea was disappointing enough, especially when taking into account the fact that they were 2-0 up.

However, the day was made worse by Jean-Clair Todibo’s red card for violent conduct after he grabbed Joao Pedro around the throat.

The Frenchman will serve a three-game ban off the back of that, with Lukas Fabianski the only other expected absentee from the squad for West Ham.

But for Burnley, injuries are starting to pile up.

Josh Cullen, Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer, Mike Tresor and Connor Roberts are all set to miss the clash because of injury, while James Ward-Prowse is also ineligible.

Ward-Prowse is on loan from West Ham for the rest of the season and is unable to feature against his parent club.

How will West Ham cope without Jean-Clair Todibo?

West Ham have the worst defensive record in the Premier League, and Todibo has been one of the only defenders to have played his part in improving that.

His absence is not only a blow for that reason, but also because the options after him are incredibly questionable.

Axel Disasi hasn’t played first-team football in over a year, while Max Kilman has shown time and time again that he is not good enough for Premier League football.

However, one of the two looks set to make a start against the Clarets, which has to be a major concern for Nuno Espirito Santo, and a potential boost for Saturday’s opponents, Burnley.
