West Ham United quartet could face fitness tests ahead of Crystal Palace tie
Four West Ham United players remain a doubt for the Premier League game against Crystal Palace on Sunday (6 November), according to Football London.
David Moyes has named a very big squad for the visit of the Eagles to the London Stadium but there are significant question marks over Lukasz Fabianksi and Maxwel Cornet, in particular.
Cornet has not made an appearance since 1 October while Fabianski limped off at half-time against Manchester United to be replaced by Alphonse Areola in between the sticks.
As well as those two, Lucas Paqueta is still not 100 per cent certain to feature as he returns from a shoulder problem with one eye almost certainly on the World Cup.
Nayef Aguerd is also on edge having yet to make his Premier League debut and himself wanting to go to Qatar to represent Morocco on the world stage.
Moyes might not want to risk Paqueta and Aguerd, in particular, with both desperate to play in Qatar with the tournament starting on 20 November but he has to be selfish.
His only worry can be West Ham United and that means that if they are fit enough to play, he can select them and use them as much as he feels is necessary.
Aguerd has looked exceptional in the Europa Conference League so far and would surely translate those performances to the Premier League should he finally get his shot.
Paqueta’s importance is enormous too and he is somebody that has to play some kind of part if he is available to do so.
Cornet and Fabianski are not such big misses and can be afforded a rest if they are not quite up to the task with Areola proving to be an adequate replacement for the latter and plenty of attacking options to cover for Cornet.
