West Ham United confirm starting XI for clash v Everton
West Ham United have confirmed their starting XI for their Premier League fixture with Everton on January 21 with three changes made.
David Moyes has decided to make three changes to his starting XI with Saïd Benrahma, Kurt Zouma and Emerson coming into the team to start.
As confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, with Moyes desperately needing a win the club released their starting XI with new signing Danny Ings on the bench.
Moyes’ old friend.
Moyes began his managerial career at Preston North End in 1998 and then moved to Everton in 2002 where he managed the club for over a decade, making him the longest-serving manager in the club’s history.
During his tenure at Everton, Moyes established the team as a consistent top-half team in the Premier League, and also led the team to qualify for European competitions.
It’s quite fitting in a way that this may be Moyes’ last game in charge of West Ham United, a loss to his old friend would ultimately call curtains on his time at the London Stadium.
Moyes, however, won’t be short of options should he be sacked and he may even end up back at Goodison Park if Frank Lampard continues to face problems.
That’s a move a majority of people in the football world could see happening and it would hardly be surprising to see the Scot back on Merseyside at some point in the near future.
