West Ham United and Julen Lopetegui subjected to brutal Jamie O’Hara putdown

Jamie O’Hara ripped West Ham United and Julen Lopetegui to shreds after the 3-0 loss against Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers were taught a lesson at the City Ground on Saturday [2 November] as Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Doi and Ola Aina pounded further misery onto Lopetegui.

O’Hara wasted no time twisting the knife in as he shared his verdict on the Irons via his X account [2 November] as West Ham lost a fifth match from 10 outings this season.

He said: “Nahhhhh West Ham are terrible lopetegui is miles off it”.

West Ham United are the most inconsistent side in Premier League

It is truly mind-blowing how the atmosphere in East London can shift so dramatically in six days, as West Ham follow up what could have been a momentum-boosting 2-1 win against Manchester United last weekend with a dire display against Forest.

All the attention heading into the tie was on in-form forward Chris Wood and how the Hammers would stop him from adding to his goal tally. It took less than half an hour for the 31-year-old to score his eighth goal of the season.

Lopetegui arguably went too defensive by naming all three senior centre-backs at the City Ground – after a “disgusting” display of defending, it is hard to argue a case for any of them to start yet another must-win clash against Everton next weekend.

Edson Alvarez will almost certainly feel the wrath of the Spaniard after his needless sending-off in the first half at a point when the Irons were chasing a one-goal deficit, leaving his teammates with a mountain to climb heading into the second half.

As soon as West Ham appear to take a step forward under Lopetegui, they immediately take two steps back, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to see a long-term future for the Spaniard in East London.

Now, only six points separate the Hammers from the relegation zone and it’s all back to square one – no supporter needs to be reminded of the ramifications of the result against Everton at Goodison Park.
