West Ham predicted XI vs Crystal Palace as Graham Potter confirms crushing injury news

West Ham take on Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon at the London Stadium.

Graham Potter’s side were left embarrassed as West Ham lost 3-0 to their bitter rivals Tottenham last weekend.

The Hammers will be looking to bounce back against a Palace side who have been solid so far to start the season, with one win and three draws from their opening four Premier League fixtures.

However, with the pressure continuing to mount on Potter, with Slaven Bilic being linked with a return to West Ham, anything other than a win could spell the end for Potter’s time in East London.

Graham Potter confirms Aaron Wan-Bissaka injury news

Gary O’Neil is also linked with the West Ham job, and the bad news does not stop there for Potter, with Wan-Bissaka missing the game on Saturday due to him having “a problem with his stomach”, Potter confirmed at his press conference.

Kyle Walker-Peters is expected to continue to start in his place, as Wan-Bissaka misses the opportunity to face his former club.

Tomas Soucek will also be unavailable after he was sent off against Spurs, meaning there is an open slot in the West Ham engine room.

Whilst some supporters may feel like youngster Freddie Potts should be given a chance, this seems unlikely, judging by what Potter had to say about him in his press conference.

“Freddie has had a really positive journey… He did well in pre-season and we know his qualities. He has to work hard and wait for his opportunity.”

This seemingly alludes to the fact that Andy Irving could be set to partner James Ward-Prowse in midfield, in what is a proposition that will not have West Ham supporters enthralled.

Crysencio Summerville could keep his place on the left-hand side as he continues to build his way back to full fitness, and with the winger’s promising cameo against Nottingham Forest, Potter will want to ensure the Dutchman is back to his best sooner rather than later.

With Niclas Fullkrug also returning from an injury, the German could be set to return to the starting XI against Palace.

Defeat could result in Graham Potter’s dismissal

Those in attendance at the London Stadium this season have made their feelings abundantly clear towards their manager, and Potter could be set to be finally put out of his misery after the game against Palace.

With David Sullivan reportedly scouting the managerial market for replacements, it seems to be only a matter of time before the former Chelsea manager is replaced in the dugout, in news that will be celebrated like a goal for most supporters.

Instead of being the turning point like most had hoped, the 3-0 win the Hammers picked up against Forest now looks to be somewhat of an outlier, considering how terrible the majority of their performances have been so far this season.
