West Ham player ratings vs Bournemouth: Callum Wilson sensational, 3/10 out of his depth
West Ham gave up an early two-goal lead in their dramatic 2-2 draw to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
West Ham travelled to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth in the Premier League on 22 November.
After back-to-back wins before the international break, there was hope for Nuno Espirito Santo to make it three against the Cherries.
A double from Callum Wilson fired the away side in front before half time, before an expertly taken Marcus Tavernier penalty brought Bournemouth back into the game.
Enes Unai equalised for the Cherries with more than enough time on the clock, but failed to get past the iron-clad gloves of Alphonse Areola.

Callum Wilson sensational against Bournemouth
It was suggested that Wilson would become a key player for Nuno after West Ham’s 3-1 win over Newcastle United, and the striker has more than met expectations since.
The England international’s double against his former side in the first half was his first brace in the Premier League in two years.
- Wilson took three shots on goal
- He won 25 per cent of his ground duels
- He made one interception, clearance and recovery
Indeed, Wilson’s form for West Ham has been red-hot, which has made fans question why it’s only now that he’s starting consistently for them.
He has now scored in back-to-back matches after netting in West Ham’s dramatic 3-2 win over Burnley before the Premier League paused for the international break.

Despite being replaced by Tomas Soucek 52 minutes into the game, Wilson’s performance was one to remember, as he continues to get protection from injury issues.

Luis Guilherme out of his depth
Nuno shocked fans with his decision to hand Luis Guilherme his first start in the Premier League against Bournemouth.
However, the 19-year-old put on a performance that should’ve remained in the drafts.
Guilherme was completely out of his depth:
- Guilherme was substituted after 45 minutes
- He made one key pass
- He lost possession nine times
Furthermore, he lost seven out of eight ground duels and was dribbled past once, according to Sofascore.
In retrospect, his performance is unsurprising given that it was an issue of physicality rather than technique.

Indeed, Lewis Cook bullied him off the ball on several occasions; it was a complete mismatch.
Starting Guilherme was a massive gamble for Nuno, and one that unfortunately didn’t pay off, with the Brazilian set for the fringes of the squad again.
