West Ham player ratings v Rapid Wien - Jarrod Bowen puts in 3/10 shocker

West Ham returned to winning ways and secured their pathway into the knockout round of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

They beat Rapid Wien 2-0 with Mark Noble and Andriy Yarmolenko finding the back of the net.

While most players impressed, there were a few that were below par.

Here’s how West Ham Zone rated the Hammers players:

Alphonse Areola 7

Another clean sheet for the Hammers backup keeper who’s enjoying life as the Europa League number one. He would like to play more in the Premier League.

Vladimir Coufal 7

Looks sharp and ready to take over from Ben Johnson in the Premier League as well. Another solid performance from the Czech international.

Craig Dawson 6

Did relatively well and did not give David Moyes any reasons to make him consider dropping him from the side for Issa Diop.

Issa Diop 6

Much like Dawson, he had a good game, but nothing extraordinary that would see Moyes making a big change and starting him alongside Kurt Zouma in the league.

Arthur Masuaku 7

A tidy performance from Masuaku and he will be delighted with his performance. He was facing plenty of issues with his fitness in the past, but he appears to have put them all behind him.

Mark Noble 8

Undoubtedly the man of the match here. Controlled the midfield perfectly, played a few neat passes and also calmly slotted the ball home from the penalty spot.

Tomas Soucek 6

Did not have too much to do and wasn’t tested a great deal. Fairly routine stuff from the Czech Republic midfielder.

Andriy Yarmolenko 7

The Ukrainian scored his first goal of the season and will have every reason to be delighted with his performance. Did not start as the lone striker as many expected, but instead was deployed on the right.

Manuel Lanzini 7

Did well coming in place for Pablo Fornals and he could give Moyes a selection dilemma for their next Premier League clash. Was very lively in the final third and always looked to make something happen.

Nikola Vlasic 7

Much like Lanzini, performances like these could see him knocking on the manager’s door. Great game from the fringe players here.

Jarrod Bowen 3

Surprisingly, it was a first-team regular that let the team down and he will be livid with his performance on the night.
