Troy Deeney predicts West Ham United v Aston Villa at London Stadium, mentions John McGinn
Troy Deeney has predicted that West Ham and Aston Villa will play out a 2-2 draw at London Stadium on Sunday (17 March).
Both teams head into the contest on the back of impressive performances in Europe on Thursday (14 March).
Fourth-place Villa are 12 points better off than West Ham in seventh, but the visitors will be without suspended captain John McGinn.
Sharing his prediction for the game via his personal TikTok account [16 March], Deeney said: “No John McGinn is a big one.
“Villa played on Thursday, though West Ham did as well to be fair, just a bit earlier. I’m going to go with a 2-2 draw.”
West Ham United record v Aston Villa in Premier League
The Irons are unbeaten in their past eight home league matches against Villa, winning four of those and drawing the other four.
Villa won October’s reverse fixture 4-1 at Villa Park, however, and could complete a home and away double for the first time since 2010-11.
West Ham’s league form has been very inconsistent of late, with a 2-2 draw against Burnley last weekend disrupting their momentum.

The emphatic win over Freiburg a few days ago has helped lift the mood around London Stadium, and another win here would be massive.
Villa are themselves coming into the game on the back of an impressive win over Ajax in Europe, but they were beaten 4-0 by Tottenham last week.
That goes to show that they are there for the taking, particularly with McGinn absent, in a game David Moyes will be targeting all three points from.
In other West Ham news, Jamie Carragher has offered a different prediction to Deeney for Sky Sports.
