Tomas Soucek axed, Maxwel Cornet starts – West Ham United predicted XI v Manchester United

David Moyes could be set to make changes to his West Ham United starting lineup ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

The Hammers were held to a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Thursday night after a disappointing performance, with James Ward-Prowse scoring a penalty to cancel out Dominic Solanke’s goal following a Kalvin Phillips error.

But with a quick turnaround and a tough game to come the manager may look to make changes to his side, although he is limited in his options to do so.

Alphonse Areola will continue in goal while the back four is likely to remain unchanged with Vladimir Coufal not even on the bench against the Cherries and Nayef Aguerd unlikely to be ready to return after his AFCON exploits.

Ben Johnson and Emerson Palmieri should get the nod at full-back with Dinos Mavropanos and Kurt Zouma in the middle, while summer signing Edson Alvarez is likely to sit ahead of them and protect them despite reported concerns from the manager over his temperament.

Further forward Phillips and Ward-Prowse should continue their partnership in midfield, which means there is likely to be no room for senior option Tomas Soucek.

In attack Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen should continue with both players in excellent form, but the left-wing spot remains wide open.

Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals have both been sold since Thursday’s deadline while Lucas Paqueta is still injured, and after a goal in his only start of the season in the Premier League so far Maxwel Cornet deserves another opportunity.
