Tom Davis blasts ’embarrassment’ Andriy Yarmolenko in West Ham win v Kidderminster
Celebrity West Ham fan Tom Davis has slaughtered Andriy Yarmolenko after he dived in an attempt to win a penalty against Kidderminster on Saturday.
The National League North side almost knocked the Irons out of the FA Cup at Aggborough before Declan Rice scored a goal in the first minute of stoppage time. Jarrod Bowen then won the match after 121 minutes of action as extra time was almost concluded.
While the Hammers were 1-0 down, 32-year-old Ukraine international Yarmolenko threw himself to the ground in a bid to win a penalty against Kidderminster.
That led to widespread criticism, with comedian and actor Davis absolutely destroying Yarmolenko on social media.
“Yarmolenko is an embarrassment to the game and to the club,” said Davis via his personal Twitter account on Saturday afternoon [5 February].
“No idea what he does in training but not fit to wear the shirt in my opinion.”
Never play him again
That wasn’t the only time that Yarmolenko was criticised in the win at Kidderminster.
Firstly, he was hopeless all game and offered absolutely nothing up front other than trying to win a penalty by sheer deception.
Secondly, when Rice scored our equaliser in the 91st minute, what did Yarmolenko do?
You can watch in the clip below but it’s easy to see the ex-Borrusia Dortmund attacker threw his arms up in the air and looked frustrated that Rice didn’t pass the ball to him, rather than score.
Yarmolenko had a big chance to prove his worth against Kidderminster. However, all he did prove was that he’s a cheat and that he’s not a team player.
We’re fed up with him and that was the last straw for not only us but a lot of other West Ham fans, who want to see the back of the Ukrainian as soon as possible.
Well done for Kidderminster for their performance on Saturday. We simply wasn’t good enough and that lacklustre display shows once again how bad it was that no new players were signed in January.
In other West Ham news, an ex-FIFA official has reacted to another controversial moment in the win at Aggborough.
