Stan Collymore predicts West Ham showdown v Leicester City

Stan Collymore predicts Leicester City to hold West Ham to a draw when they meet at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

David Moyes’ men can move three points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United in the race to secure a top-four finish with a win over Leicester while they would also go within just four points of third-placed Chelsea.

Collymore expects their to be goals in the East Midlands this weekend and predicts the game to end as a 2-2 draw.

“Could be the game of the weekend, but neither manager will be happy with this result,” said Collymore in the print edition of the Sunday People on 13 February [page 54].

Tough game

Brendan Rodgers is no doubt under pressure to rescue what has been a very poor season by Leicester this time out.

As it stands, the Foxes are 13th in the Premier League table even though they are a team who should really be battling the likes of the Hammers for a spot in European competition next season.

It’s fair to say the East Midlands outfit is going backwards – but that doesn’t mean they’ll be pushovers by any stretch of the imagination on Sunday.

Rodgers still has top-class players at his disposal in Youri Tielemans, Harvey Barnes, James Maddison and Patson Daka.

Jamie Vardy remains injured but their form doesn’t solely rely upon the prolific striker and West Ham should know that.

Moyes’ squad saw their form revived with a 1-0 win over Watford on Tuesday and we hope that the Kurt Zouma controversy doesn’t lead to a continued lull because there are so many distractions right now.

Neutrals will want Leicester to win on Sunday – let’s hope we can use that pressure on them against them and get all three points.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are set to allow this Moyes signing to leave in the summer.
