Stan Collymore makes surprise prediction for West Ham United showdown v Manchester United

Stan Collymore predicts West Ham will earn a surprise victory away at Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

David Moyes has failed to win any of his 15 away games at Old Trafford in the Premier League but the ex-Man United boss has seen West Ham’s form improve in recent weeks.

On top of a 100 per cent record in the Europa Conference League, the Irons have won three and drawn one of their last five Premier League fixtures.

West Ham

And that has led to Collymore surprisingly predicting that Moyes will get his first league win away at Man United this weekend, tipping the Irons to win 2-1.

Writing in the Sunday People (30 October, page 60), Collymore said: “Fancy Moyes to get a tune out of the Hammers.

“They are picking up steam.

“[Erik] ten Hag hasn’t got it all right yet.”

Wow

Well, we’d be happy with that.

West Ham haven’t won away at Old Trafford since May 2007 when Carlos Tevez netted a goal that earned the Londoners Premier League safety at the expense of Sheffield United.

That was a long, long time ago and that was also our only win at Old Trafford in the league since 2001.

It’s been a place where a lot of clubs have gone since the end of the Sir Alex Ferguson era and broken long-standing records by winning there.

Surely it’s West Ham’s time now.

As Collymore points out, we’re in the middle of a good run of form having beaten Wolves, Fulham and Bournemouth in October so far.

But our record against the so-called big-six has been a bit disappointing having lost to Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City as well as drawing with Tottenham at home.

Let’s win this.

Come on you Irons.
