Sky Sports pundit blown away by ‘unbelievable’ Michail Antonio moment in West Ham United clash v Liverpool
Kevin Phillips was blown away by the “unbelievable” miss from Michail Antonio in the clash between West Ham and Liverpool.
The two clubs met in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday (24 September), with just three points separating them in the table before kick-off.
Antonio and his teammate Tomas Soucek both had early chances to score the opening goal, but neither could find the back of the net.

“How has Antonio missed the target there?” Phillips said on Sky Sports News (24 September, 2.12pm)
“He has to be hitting the target and West Ham should be 2-0 up having had two unbelievable chances.”

Massive chances
West Ham started the match at Anfield very brightly, with the best chances in the early moments definitely falling to the visitors.
They will have headed into the game knowing that an upset was very much a possibility, with gaps always appearing in Jurgen Klopp’s defence.
But tiredness was always going to kick in given how the two clubs both played on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League.
The Hammers overcame Serbian outfit Backa Topola 3-1 at the London Stadium, with Liverpool also winning by that scoreline on their trip to LASK.
Both managers changed some sections of their teams given the quick succession of matches as they look to successfully compete in both competitions.
Hammers forward Antonio has made a strong start to the new season, having already found the back of the net on a few occasions, and so he will have been disappointed not to have beaten Alisson early on at Anfield.
In other West Ham news, Darren Bent has made a Hammers prediction live on talkSPORT, with the host calling it “unbelievable.”
