Roy Keane makes joke as Ferdinand left stunned by West Ham defender v Liverpool
West Ham were made to pay for missed opportunities against Liverpool, crashing to a late 2-1 defeat at Anfield on Sunday.
Graham Potter’s men were forced to make the journey back to London without any points, despite causing plenty of problems for Arne Slot’s men.
Mohamed Salah rewarded Liverpool’s contract decision when he assisted Luis Diaz to give them the lead in the 18th minute, but the Hammers responded positively and created several opportunities.
After Andy Robertson somehow scored a late own-goal, it looked enough for a great point on Merseyside, but Virgil van Dijk headed home minutes later.

Roy Keane and Les Ferdinand joke over West Ham woes
Roy Keane and Les Ferdinand looked at West Ham’s first-half chances in great detail, with Mohammed Kudus having forced Alisson Becker into a brilliant save.
It was Konstantinos Mavropanos who missed the best of the lot, though, heading over with the goal gaping and no challenge on him.
Speaking live on Sky Sports Main Event [13 April, 14:53], Ferdinand couldn’t believe it.
He said: “For me, Mavropanos coming in there, free header coming straight on, you have to hit the target. Hit the target, and I think it goes in.”
Keane then couldn’t help but joke, saying that his co-pundit wouldn’t have missed a chance like that.

West Ham found even more chances in the second half as their performance became even more dominant, and eventually they broke the deadlock.

Potter had lots of positives
A 2-1 loss against the impending Premier League champions isn’t the worst result to take away from a trip to Anfield, but the fact that West Ham will genuinely be disappointed not to have taken a point is proof that there were some positives to take from the game.
West Ham opened up Liverpool regularly and refused to allow Slot’s team to play their style of free-flowing football, as they reduced Anfield to a library at times due to their positive performances.
With the game at 1-1 late in the second half, there was an opportunity for the Hammers to take something from the game, but they failed to make the most of it.
The Irons proved that they’re moving in the right trajectory under Potter, with performances such as this far more likely to bring positive results than defeats moving forward.
