Neville accuses Carragher of going too far over Liverpool and West Ham comment
Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville disagreed on the outcome of West Ham United’s clash with Liverpool on Sunday.
The Hammers come into the contest with nothing to play for in terms of league position, while the Reds can take a step closer to securing the Premier League title.
However, Graham Potter‘s side will be looking to finish their season strongly and end a run of four matches without a victory.

Carragher and Neville row over West Ham v Liverpool prediction
West Ham were beaten 5-0 by Liverpool back in December and they are expected to be dispatched comfortably again at Anfield given the stakes of the clash for the home side.
However, Neville has accused Carragher of going too far in favour of his former side with his prediction for the contest.
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast (10 April), Carragher gave his verdict, saying: “3-0.”
A surprised Neville responded, saying: “You think 3-0, Carra? Or are you just getting a bit carried away a little bit there.”
West Ham will have tough test at Liverpool
Facing the Reds is never easy but it could not come at a worse time for the Hammers, given the implications of the match for Arne Slot‘s side if they win the contest.
Victory would take them to within eight points of the title, so they will be keen to secure victory and ward off any potential Arsenal challenge in the last few weeks of the season.
Opponents | Result |
Paris Saint-Germain | 0-1 (L) |
Newcastle | 2-1 (L) |
Everton | 1-0 (W) |
Fulham | 3-2 (L) |
There has been an increased vulnerability to the Anfield outfit recently, as they have lost three of their last four in all competitions, with the 3-2 loss to Fulham (6 April) being the latest setback.
However, that may be a bad thing for Potter’s side, as the champions elect will be looking to get back on track with a statement against the Irons and put their title aspirations in good stead.
The East London outfit have not exactly been in the best of form and their misery could be compounded on Sunday afternoon.
Potter will be hoping that his side can finish the season strongly and take momentum into the new campaign, where he can mould the squad with recruitment supremo Kyle Macaulay and make the necessary additions, but right now it is all about stability but that may have to wait until after they face Slot’s side.
