Moyes to swap out trio: Predicted West Ham starting XI v Brighton

First of all, wouldn’t another day’s rest be nice for West Ham United after Wednesday night’s clash with Liverpool? Nope, they’re playing on Saturday.

The Hammers return to action against Brighton & Hove Albion after falling 2-0 to the league leaders last time out.

Manager David Moyes won’t be forgiven for going as defensive against the Seagulls as he did against the Reds, and so he will likely return to a 4-4-2 of sorts on Saturday.

With that said, the Scot is expected to make three changes to his starting line-up. Issa Diop, Aaron Cresswell and Manuel Lanzini will surely drop out here.

Centre back Fabian Balbuena, winger Pablo Fornals and forward Michail Antonio will almost certainly replace them.

Lukasz Fabianski returned to full fitness and put in a decent effort against Liverpool, and so he will likely start once again against Graham Potter’s side.

At right back, young Jeremy Ngakia made his debut on Wednesday and performed very well. He can expect to keep his place. Meanwhile, Arthur Masuaku, who also played well, will most probably edge out Cresswell for the starting spot on the opposite side of the defence.

Diop was atrocious once again against Liverpool and shouldn’t play again, here. Balbuena will surely come in for him to partner Angelo Ogbonna at centre back.

In central midfield, Declan Rice and Mark Noble can expect to start once again, while Robert Snodgrass will surely keep his place. Fornals will most probably replace Lanzini.

Up top, Antonio should be fit to return and so he will likely partner Sebastien Haller in attack.

In other West Ham news, the club are reportedly preparing a £10million move for a Premier League central midfielder.
